Chesky Records offers you Music for your cell phone
In these days when it is getting harder and harder to get someone to pay fifteen dollars for a full sixty minute cd, companies have been banging our doors down to give them twenty second ring tones !!
The public cannot get enough of this.
So lets look at the numbers.
We would get about two dollars for each twenty second ring tone.... That means that for sixty minutes of music we would get about three hundred and sixty dollars instead of the usual measly fifteen . Now that seems to us alot better business model.
But what does that mean to you the musical public?
We plan to edit down the Mahler "Fifth Symphony" to about twentythree seconds.
We are work on a version on Strauss's " Zarathustra" that would be about twenty five seconds.
Our jazz cd's instead of the long and tedious six to seven minute tracks, would only be about three seconds each.
I am also looking for some one to commission my new piano concerto. The first movement would be a happy eight second Allegro. Movement two would be a beautiful six second adagio,,,and the finale would be a long nine second presto. If you are interested in underwriting this brave new artistic endeavor this please contact me.
There are over one hundered ninety million cell phones in this country alone.
I am excited about this new way for the public to hear music.
Think about it. In this new form people now may have the time to stand up and listen attentively without distractions !!!
I am confident that these new symphonic forms will be more than enough to fill the palate of today's musical public
Lets move forward!
